I bought this for my camera so I can improve the sound quality when filming live music.

A fantastic microphone for DSLR or smartphone use. This is what I use for vlogging and video production with my Canon SL2 and iPhone. Does an excellent job of picking up the sounds I want. The windmuff is excellent for muffled ambient wind noise. This little workhorse is hard to beat for the price. I may consider upgrading to a self-powered mic in the future, but for now and the foreseeable future, this one will suffice.

It helps improve my audio quality from the on-board microphone on your camera(mine ones is terrible) I noticed the mic is best perform or human voice, which is perfect for me, as i use it most for song covers. Nice CS, highly recommended.
